[ Lucifer, Michael, and Jack will get an abrupt, high-pitched screeching ringing inside their minds at the moment Castiel’s captured. All that comes through is a vivid image of the mask he’s looking directly into, before it’s snuffed out. ]
[ As soon as the Angel Radio comes through, Jack's eyes take their yellow glowing hue, and he screams and falling to his knees. Angel radio still hurt a lot. The plate he was washing in the kitchen shattered as he held his head. ]

[ It's following a very, very long day that Sam comes seeking out Jack. When he'd gotten up in the morning, Sam hadn't expected Dean to fly off the handle, hadn't expected Jo to take the brunt, hadn't expected Jesper and Nadine to have to do more than their fair share because another chapter of the Winchester family drama. He had expected an ambush and he certainly hadn't expected to find that Jo had been healed of all but the emotional implications so quickly and so thoroughly by Jack.
It's with a weariness that he comes knocking at the nephilim's door, tired on top of tired but not willing to let it rest before he checks in. This is every bit as important as all the rest that's going on (not to mention, Lucifer Castiel will probably appreciate someone checking in on his kid.) ]
[ Jack had not used much of his power since arrival, wanting to keep himself hidden from Lucifer. He knew his father was there as soon as his powers returned. It was speaking to Michael that removed some of the worry.
He had planned to finally start exploring this new world and learning the places and people on his own, but then Castiel was kidnapped and he made his promise to stay safe and home. He had not expected the healing to take so much out of him. Idle worries after a long nap in his room had been plaguing his mind. Were his powers hindered? Or was it just the healing? He hated feeling this tired but when he heard the knocking he sat up. A bit a bed head despite the hour.
Sam's voice was always welcome. ]
Yeah, come on in.
[ He called back, he hadn't really said much of anything to anyone when he left Jo's room, just returned to his room that was still pretty empty. He smoothed his hair down and sat up more on the bed. ]
Are you okay?
[ If Sam was bruised, he'd heal him too, no questions asked. Even if it made him tired. He should go check on Dean but he's been in his head lately. ]
[ As he comes in, Sam tries to ignore the minimalism presentation, but reminds himself when all of this is over to share some things with Jack that he'd collected on his own wanderings. Books, small pieces of local handmade art — he already had some ideas of what the young man might share in common with him and doesn't mind sharing.
But that's neither here nor there and as Sam finds himself a seat nearby Jack on the bed, he tries to remind himself why he's here. This is as much for Jack as it is for Cas and Sam — the acknowledgement is important. ]
I'm tired, but okay.
Are you okay? Healing Jo had to have taken a lot out of you...
[ The number of time's he'd seen angels struggling with their grace only solidifies the assumption in Sam's mind. Not to mention Jack looks worn out. ]
[ A lot of the minimalism view was Jack being depressed and hiding it as he well learned from growing up around Dean. He couldn't and wouldn't talk to his family about what was wrong. He could talk to Michael about it at least, but if he shared what happened he knew he'd have Deans wraith on him.
Yawning a little he hook his head some and offered a tired awkward smile Sam's way. ]
I'm tired too, [ He admitted, sitting to sit cross legged.] I'm glad you're not hurt, I was worried when I saw Jo. I haven't gone to see Dean yet. If she's hurt I am sure he is too.
[ He had no idea how Jo got hurt, and it was better that way. ] It did, I don't know why... It never made me this tired before. Maybe this place has hindered me some, I don't use my power much if I can help it.
[ Sam smiles wanly, nodding along with Jack's observation. He can see the young man's exhaustion, feel the way he fights off the worst of it just for the sake of the others. It's more proof of Jack's fidelity, more walking the talk from months earlier when he'd admitted his kinship.
Reaching over, he clasps Jack's shoulder, squeezing it gently, companionably. It's not something he would usually feel right doing when he's still striking a familiarity with a person, but Jack fits so well, it's difficult to imagine how he could be anything but genuine. ]
The right place at the right time. You did great. And Dean? Dean's gonna be fine. He's not so hurt that he needs the rest of your energy, trust me. We'll let the dust settle a little, I think.
[ With a tight smile, he lets his hand fall away. He's trying so hard but even practiced words feel foreign in his mouth when he knows how much he's worrying. ]
What do you think, though? You're a part of all this, too.
[ Jack beleived in what they do, that it was the only thing worth doing. Even when he messed up, hurt people, or made bad calls. He still wanted to fight the good fight. And knowing what was waiting at home made him all the frightened that being here could cost them that world. But clearly time is wonky here, and he can't focus on that for now.
When Sam clasps his shoulder, the boys eyes lift up to him and he smiles again. This one meets his eyes. Sam was always the voice of reason, it fills him with a warmth hes been missing.]
I know how Dean can be. [ He spoke with a nod. Dean was the most stubborn man to even stubborn. ] That's a good idea, and I'll be fine soon, I promise. [ He tipped his head some. ] Think of what?
[ In the pause following Jack's question, Sam looks him over. So gentle, so hopeful. It's already become difficult to imagine a time before Jack was part of the family. ]
I meant do you think that's the right approach? You've got a voice here, even if it seems like no one's ready to listen.
[ Mostly, he wants Jack to feel like he's got no shortage of people who care or are willing to listen. And that his voice matters because it brings something special to the conversation. Things that are hard to say, but get easier with time and effort. ]
[ Maybe it was how tired the healing had made him, but Jack wasn't sure exactly what Sam was asking of him. He looked confused a moment as he looked over his other father figure. ]
Healing Jo? [ He asked before nodding. Assuming that.] Of course, I'd do it for all of you even if it made me sleep for days. You're my family. All of you, we protect each other. That's what family does.
[ Though it hurt knowing Castiel was out there and he had promised not to go after his chosen father. ]
[ He claps the young man on the back and then stands once more. It's bizarre to feel so at home with someone who he barely knows, but Jack fits. His attitudes and expressions remind Sam so much of their little family that it feels so obvious how Jack belongs. ]
Hey, it's been a long day, but I wanted to say that before I hit the sack. We couldn't have done it without you. Get some rest; you deserve it.
[ Jack's smile grew despite him being tired, looking up at Sam. He would always consider Sam one of his fathers. The Winchesters in general, but Sam was always the voice of reason. ]
I appreciate it. It means a lot, you sleep well too.
[ He didn't even wait for Sam to fully leave before he slipped back under his covers. A breeze coming through the open window at the head of his bed. He was exhausted.]

week 3/4, whenever the network is normal for pit ppl again
[ the moment the horizon opens up and he can connect clearly, he shoots a message off to his family, stretches out to find jack, hoping he hasn't been roped into anything stupid by, well, the people prone to doing stupid things in their family (aka, everyone) ]
Are you doing alright? I'm so sorry I've been gone so long. Did you decide what activity you'd like to do once I'm home?
[ Even if he's been roped in or not, he's playing it careful. He can help and wants too. A first sign perhaps that the boy can, and will lie. Even if he hates it. ]
I am alright, a little bit of cabin fever.
[ A term he only knows from ask Dean about the meaning of a movie title back home. ]
And, sorry, I haven't. I know I said I would, but I was worried about you and the others that vanished. I just want to do anything, even if its just walking in the garden.
It's alright, no rush. Dean, Sam and Jo are on there way to get me now, it won't be long.
[ there's a whole swath of crazy cultists to get through before they can just pick him up and take him home like an uber. but, the kid's already worried enough. ]
We can do whatever you like. What did you and I do back home together?
I see. We must take care of your human side too, so be careful not to skip too much sleep. It’s vital for proper function, regardless of what Dean may suggest.
Also, please drink plenty of water. Hydration is important.
[ dean is a bad influence on good health, ignore him ]
I'm still unsure where he is, only that he must be somewhere.
Sam and I are going to investigate the forest in the Horizon. We should be alright by ourselves. The most I can ask is that you keep an eye out for him. But if you see him, don't approach Dean by yourself. Let one of us know, okay?
